McCall named LHS principal

VALDOSTA – Mr. Wes Taylor, Superintendent of Lowndes County Schools, is pleased to announce Mrs. LeAnne McCall as the Principal of Lowndes High School.

During the February Lowndes County School Board Meeting, Mrs. McCall was unanimously approved as the Principal of LHS; she has served as interim principal since July 2015. Previously Mrs. McCall was the school system’s 6-12 Curriculum Director and former Lowndes High School Assistant Principal.

Mrs. McCall stated, “This past year has been amazing, and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such outstanding colleagues. We are working diligently to continue improve as a school”.

She shared that next year will be the 50th Anniversary of Lowndes High School, and our motto for 2016-2017 will be “Looking Back… Moving Forward.” With this in mind, Mrs. McCall is excited about celebrating our accomplishments over the last 50 years and in sharing with our community all of the great things on the horizon for Lowndes High School.

Mr. Taylor stated, “Under the leadership of Mrs. McCall, LHS is moving in a positive direction. She is respected by her staff and works with them to ensure that each of our students is provided an opportunity to earn a quality education”.
