LHS Indoor Percussion and Winter Guard place in competitions, raising money for championship trips

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Lowndes High School Georgia Bridgemen indoor percussion group was awarded a first place at a competition in Florida last week; the school’s varsity Winter Guard placed second in a separate event.

The FFCC Percussion Focus was held at University High School in Orange Park on Saturday.The Bridgemen’s indoor percussion group were awarded 1st Place in Scholastic Marching A.

The Lowndes Varsity Winter Guard competed in the WGI Regional at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida where they placed 2nd in the National Scholastic A classification.

Both of these groups took the next step to FFCC Championships and WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH in April.

Supporters of the Lowndes Percusion Indoor Group has set up a GoFundMe page to help offset the expenses of the trip. They have set a goal of $5,000, and as of Wednesday morning, the site had raised over $600.
