LCSO buried body training

VALDOSTA – Last week, the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to host a specialized buried body/evidence collection training session.

The training provided a mixture of classroom presentation and a hands-on practical exercise in which the participants excavated two mannequins that had been buried or concealed.

“The 22 participants in this hands-on training from 10 different law enforcement agencies gained valuable experience at no cost. This is one of those events we hope we never have to deal with, but history says will we because we have had to before,” said LCSO Capt. Stryde Jones. “This type of training exercise allows everyone to share their experiences and learn new skills at the same time.”
