Woman allegedly found with a pound of meth

MOULTRIE – Police responding to a call concerning a woman waving a gun reportedly found a pound of meth and thousands in cash, which led to the woman’s arrest.

On Monday night, the Moultrie Police Department responded to a residence on 7th Avenue Southeast and encountered Melissa Williams, 27.

Williams reportedly told officers she did have a gun and gave consent for a search. Officials said the search uncovered $5,000 in cash, digital scales, ammunition and approximately one pound of methamphetamine, reports stated.

Williams was arrested and charged with possession methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon, according to reports.
