Valdosta gives Exchange Club benches two more years

| January 8, 2016

VALDOSTA – The Valdosta City Council voted Thursday to approve an agreement that will allow the Exchange Club of Valdosta to maintain benches around the city for another two years.

The benches, which feature advertisements that help fund the club’s charity work, were effectively outlawed in 2009 when Valdosta land development regulations banned signs on street furniture.

The council passed the two-year extension by a 4-3 vote, reports the Valdosta Daily Times.
