THOMASVILLE – A Thomasville man accused of raping his cousin may be linked to similar crimes in Lowndes and other surrounding counties, according to officials with the Thomasville Police Department.

Horace Barber was arrested in December for allegedly raping a woman in a dark alley in Thomasville. Police said Barber was apologetic when a street light came on, and he realized the woman was his cousin, reports the Thomasville Times-Enterprise.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and now police believe he may have committed the same acts in Lowndes, Colquitt, Brooks and Irwin counties.

Barber is currently in jail without bond and is charged with rape, aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment, reports stated.
