VALDOSTA – Learning in Retirement members are discovering the healing power of laughter and its ability to strengthen the immune system, boost energy, diminish pain, and protect from the damaging effects of stress.

Laugh for Your Health kicked off Jan. 19 and will meet a total of four Tuesdays and four Thursdays between now and Feb. 11.

Men and women 50 years of age and older have 87 opportunities to learn something new during the Learning in Retirement 2016 winter term, which features a course lineup full of trips and tours, books and book reviews, topics that are simply “good to know,” special events, and classes in the areas of health and fitness, computers and technology, fine arts, leisure, history, social studies, and science.

New members are welcome to join this member-led and Valdosta State University-sponsored organization. Contact Suzanne Ewing, program coordinator, at (229) 245-6484 or sewing@valdosta.edu to learn more.
