VALDOSTA – The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has issued a reminder for drivers to take extra precautions as students return to school Wednesday.

Students attending Lowndes County and Valdosta City Schools will return to class Wednesday morning, which may lead to extra traffic congestion. LCSO Capt. Stryde Jones is encouraging drivers to give themselves a little extra time to make it to work that morning.

“A lot of these kids are returning to school, and they are excited and might not necessarily be paying attention as they should at the bus stop,” Jones said. “Allow some extra time, and pay attention. Watch for those stopped school buses, and let’s have a great return to school.”
