Deputies arrest two for flakka possession

VALDOSTA – Two Valdosta men are behind bars after they fled on foot following a traffic stop early Saturday morning, and deputies reportedly found Alpha-PVP, also known as flakka, in their vehicle.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., deputies the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Dodge Durango after noticing the vehicle had defective equipment, said LCSO Capt. Stryde Jones.

“The driver did not immediately stop, but when he did the driver and passenger exited the vehicle and ran away on foot,” Jones said.

Steven Tyrone Davis, 34, the driver, and Michael Celestial Wright, 28, were reportedly found hiding in the backyards of nearby residences, reports stated.

“When deputies searched the vehicle, they located approximately four grams of Alpha-PVP that was packaged for sale and digital scales,” Jones said.

Davis and Wright have been charged with possession of Alpha-PVP with the intent to distribute, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and obstruction of an officer. Davis is additionally charged with driving with a suspended license and defective equipment, reports stated.

Davis and Wright were taken to the Lowndes County Jail. Davis is being held on a $25,000 bond. Wright’s bond has been set at $15,000, according to LCSO reports.
