Armed Robber hits Albany Rite Aid

ALBANY — An Albany Rite Aid rang in the new year with an armed robbery.

The Rite Aid at 300 South Slappey Blvd. was robbed Friday night around 9:00 p.m.  A gunman entered the store and demanded employees open and empty the store’s safe.

An unknown suspect then fled the scene on foot.

There were 3 employees in the store at the time, according to a report from WALB, however no one was injured.

The only description provided was that the suspect was a black male wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and a hoodie.
