GSP Announce Charity Softball Tournament

| December 1, 2015

VALDOSTA — Georgia State Patrol Post 31 in Valdosta is pleased to announce the Second Annual Heroes for Tots Softball Tournament on December 12th at Freedom Park in Valdosta.

If you are unfamiliar with the event, it is a double elimination softball tournament comprised of public safety agencies from the Valdosta area. The tournament is designed to bring the community together for the holidays to bring the awareness of the Toys for Tots program.

In 2014, the tournament raised 238 toys and over $1,000 in its first year.

Last year, Post 31 was able to provide toys for over 1200 underprivileged in our area so there is a very big need for community support.

Teams announced so far include: Georgia State Patrol, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Tift County Sheriff’s Office, Valdosta Police Department, Valdosta Fire Department, Armed Forces Recruiters, Remerton Police Department, Lowndes County Emergency 911 Center and Georgia State Probation

Entry fee to the tournament will be one small unwrapped toy or small cash donation.
