Who needs a Chiropractor?

HickoxThe simple answer to that question is that everyone with a spine needs a Chiropractor. Of course there is more substantial reasoning, and I will be glad to share that with you. Most people think a chiropractor is only needed when you have back pain, which is not true. Let me explain.

The first organ to form after conception is the primitive brain. The brain sends out long slender projections that divide into what we call nerves. At the end of those nerves organelles begin to form. These organelles turn into organs, glands and tissues that make up your body. Also, during this process, 24 freely moveable vertebrae are formed to protect your spinal cord. Your nervous system is made up of your brain and spinal cord. The nerves that control your entire body pass between your vertebrae carrying messages from your brain. At this point you are receiving 100% of the messages being sent from your brain to your organs, glands and tissues….you have 100% Life!

In a perfect world, you would ALWAYS have 100% life! Unfortunately, we don’t live in a perfect world. In order to maintain 100% life and receive all of the messages being sent from your brain to the different parts of your body, you must remain subluxation free. Subluxation is a big word used to describe the misalignment of your vertebrae. These misalignments or subluxations pinch off the ‘flow’ of messages being sent from your brain to your body (organs, tissues, glands) – like putting a kink in a water hose.

Subluxations do not always cause pain; just like a small kink in a water hose may not cut off all of the water flow, but the water is not flowing as freely as it should be. The same thing happens when you have a subluxation in your spine; the messages are not flowing as freely as they should be from your brain. Pain is the last thing you feel with a subluxation and the first thing to go away.

So, who has subluxations? Everyone with a spine….young and old alike! Subluxations are primarily caused by 3 main things: Chemical, Physical and Emotional stressors. We can’t totally avoid these things in our everyday lives, so escaping subluxations is virtually impossible. The answer to making sure you maintain 100% of the life messages being sent from your brain is to be as subluxation free as possible. This is when a Chiropractor is needed. As a Chiropractor, I find the subluxations in your spine and then introduce a force to correct the subluxation. In doing so, your brain is again allowed to transmit 100% of the messages to your body. We say you are receiving 100% of the life messages from the brain.

As a Chiropractor, my primary job is to find and correct subluxations. These subluxations may or may not cause pain. Chiropractors are in the business of preventing pain before it starts, so don’t wait until you are hurting to see your Chiropractor. Routine visits will keep you well and subluxation free. I hope you have learned something about chiropractic today that you may not have known. As always, I am available to answer any questions you have.
