West Society at VSU

VALDOSTA — Members of the West Society were recently invited to a reception with Dr. Cecil P. Staton, interim president of Valdosta State University, on the West Hall front lawn.

The event was designed to honor the role private donors play in protecting and nurturing VSU’s tradition of academic, creative, and athletic excellence on campus, in the community, and around the world.

The West Society is named in honor of Col. William Stanley West, who helped introduce the first bill to the Georgia Legislature to establish a college in Valdosta. It recognizes donors who contribute between $1,000 and $4,999.

West Hall, with its iconic dome, is the signature of VSU and the gateway to all the possibilities that a VSU education offers those seeking knowledge.
