Sheriff’s Office Donates Bicycles

| November 16, 2015

VALDOSTA — Throughout the year the Sheriff’s Office takes in bicycles that are turned in as evidence or have been abandoned. Many times these bicycles go unclaimed. This year the Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Valdosta Fire Department and donated a number of bicycles that have been collected. The Valdosta Fire Department has a long tradition of rehabbing bicycles which are donated to children in the community. Last week Sheriff Chris Prine and deputies delivered 27 bicycles to the Valdosta Fire Department for the program. All of these bicycles will be ready for a child after a little cleaning and minor repairs.

Sheriff Prine said “this donation is a great way to partner with Chief Broome and the Valdosta Fire Department and give back to the community in the process.” Anyone seeking information about donation can contact the Sheriff’s Office at {229} 671-2950.
