Main Street Raises Money, Awareness for Breast Cancer

VALDOSTA — Downtown merchants painted Downtown pink in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through a friendly competition, they decorated their store fronts and sold paper bras and signature pink drinks.

All proceeds went to benefit The Partnership Cancer Fund for breast cancer patients.

Bleu Café and Bleu Pub owner Deidra White was presented with trophy for winning the competition between merchants. The Bleu Group was able to raise $250 for the cause. Downtown merchants raised a total of $600 for the Partnership Cancer Fund. Ellen Hill, Director of Valdosta Main Street presented John Sparks, ‎Executive Director of Lowndes County Partnership for Health, with a $600 check on behalf of the Downtown merchants.
