FBI Fugitive Captured in Valdosta

VALDOSTA — A Florida man wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Gang Task Force was captured Wednesday by Lowndes County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Wednesday afternoon investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office, working with United States Marshall’s and detectives from the F.B.I. Gang Task Force arrested Levon Barnes, 19 of Ft. Myers, FL, at 3200 North Ashley Street, Valdosta. Barnes was being sought for the charge of murder stemming from an incident in Lee County, Florida.

After being contacted by the Marshall Service, investigators began working and soon located Barnes where he was arrested without any incident.

Barnes was taken to the Lowndes County Jail where he will stay until extradited back to Florida.
