VALDOSTA — Students, parents, faculty and staff participated in a Terrific Title I Event, “Falling for Math” and “Book Character Parade” at Moulton Branch Elementary School on Friday, October 30.

Math, reading, and writing skills were integrated during actively engaging tasks in grades Pre-K through 5th. During session one of the event, 250 parents worked with children by working in math centers, practicing Eureka Sprints, participating in “Number Talks” discussions, and solving math application problems. Many of the parents were AMAZED by their children math competencies.

“Neat way to show steps to solve problems,” “had a lot of fun,” “so great to see my child learning,” and “enjoyed the way you get the kids involved” were just a few of the positive comments MBES’S faculty and staff received from parents.

Session two proved to be just as rewarding! MBES’ students paraded around the track personifying their favorite book character. During the culminating activities the students used their speaking and listening skills as they collaboratively engaged in conversations with their peers about the books that coincided with their attire.

MBES’S faculty and staff are extremely thankful to the parents and guardians for the support they provided their children during the splendid event.
