Couple Arrested in Child Abuse Case

MOULTRIE — A Moultrie couple has been arrested as part of a child abuse investigation, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Alexandria East, 21, and Jack East, 30, both of Moultrie, were arrested on charges of cruelty to children and aggravated battery.

Though details were not provided, a report from WCTV states the wife was arrested on Wednesday with the husband surrendering to authorities on Thursday at the Thomas County Jail.

The report noted the investigation involved both Colquitt County and Thomas County Sheriff’s Offices.

The couple has been charged with two counts of first degree cruelty to children, two counts of second degree cruelty to children and two counts of aggravated battery.
