MOULTRIE — America’s largest farm show is set to open for the 38th time at Spence Field in Moultrie.
The Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition will open Tuesday and run through Thursday. The event will be held on over 100 acres of exhibit area with more than 2,200 exhibitors expected to display the latest in agricultural technology, equipment, and rural living.
As part of the event, the Southeastern Farmer of the Year will be awarded, representing 10 states.
There will also be a 600-acre research farm demonstration where attendees can watch tractors, combines, peanut-pickers, cotton-pickers, hay equipment, and the latest in GPS equipment.
This year, Mississippi will be the featured state where they are promoting a theme of “Sweeter in Mississippi”. It will include food offerings such as Mississippi catfish, honey, candy, cheese, shrimp and other items.
Show hours are 8:30-5:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the event closing at 4:00 on Thursday. Daily admission is $10 or multi-day tickets available for $20. Children under 10 are free.
