Live Oak Police Officer Arrested on Child Porn Charges

LIVE OAK — Reports state a Live Oak Police Officer has been issued child pornography charges.

According to Live Oak Police Chief Buddy Williams, through a report from WCTV, Sgt. Kyle Kirby was arrested Wednesday morning by the FBI on child pornography charges after a search of Kirby’s home.

Kirby was suspended last week after the warrant to search his home was issued by the Bureau.  He was fired today after his arrest.  He had been with the Department since 2002.

Kirby was transported to the federal detention center in Jacksonville and is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday afternoon.
