Clinton coming to Georgia for Campaign Event

| October 15, 2015

ATLANTA – Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton is planning a campaign event for Atlanta on October 30.

It was announced this week that the former Secretary of State and First Lady would make up for an event that was cancelled in September.

Clinton’s campaign in Georgia has been ramping up.  According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, she recently announced a list of about 60 Georgia supporters, headed by Rep. John Lewis, showing her stranglehold on the Georgia Democratic establishment. Southern states with high African-American populations have been seen as a possible firewall for Clinton, and Georgia’s March 1 “SEC Primary” could help shape the race, according to the report.

Clinton’s main rival for the nomination, Bernie Sanders, was in Atlanta last month, also generating much excitement.

“I’m going to continue to run my campaign and make my case for my candidacy. And everyone else, whether they’re in or they’re not in, will have to make whatever judgment is best for them,” she said in the report, adding: “I just think he needs to decide what’s best for him and his family.”
