Six Engine Companies respond to Structure Fire

VALDOSTA — A structure fire on North Forest Street resulted in no injuries.

Valdosta Fire Department responded to a fire call at 2213 N. Forrest Street in reference to a structure fire.

Upon arrival, the responding engine crew reported light smoke within the structure. The engine crew initiated a quick fire attack.

A bathroom light and fan was determined to be the cause of the fire.

A total of six engine companies were on the scene and thirteen fire fighters.  The engine crew checked for extensions and performed salvage and overhaul.  All responded units were advised that they could go back in service. No injures were reported in the course of the fire.

    Just another example of Government Incompetence , sending 6 Firetrucks to a kitchen / smoke fire ,”duh” This is just as “Stupid” as all the Government Vehicles that show up at a fender bender. Have YOU ever wondered why ?

      The reason “why” is because there is a national minimum standard for fire depts. when responding to different types of emergencies. For a structure fire the number is 15 personnel and at least 3 fire trucks at a minimum . This is established by the National Fire Protection Association and is established to help ensure the safety of the public and firefighters.

      I would suggest before you point fingers you educate yourself so that your comments “rants” are valid.
