| September 22, 2015

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Middle School students celebrated literacy with a pep rally Thursday, September 10th.

Several members of the Valdosta High School football team and cheerleading squad spoke to the student body about the importance of reading, maintaining good grades, and education in general.

Another purpose behind the pep rally was to inform students of incentives to reach Lexile level growth goals and incentives to increase AR reading points. Special guest, Big Nick from 107.9, The Beat, encouraged reading as a key to success in all types of professions (DJ’s included) and pumped up the crowd with some beats.
