Arrest made in GNC, MS Food Mart Robberies

VALDOSTA — U.S. Marshals have made an arrest related to the robbery of the GNC store and MS Food Mart earlier this month.  Another suspect is still at large.

Alford Woods, Jr., was arrested on Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri by the U.S. Marshal Service on outstanding arrest warrants for Armed Robbery of the MS Food Mart, 1000 E. Park Avenue, Valdosta, on September 12, and the GNC Store, 2135 Bemiss Road, Valdosta, on September 13.

Woods also had arrest warrants for Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Detectives may have additional charges on Woods.  Extradition proceedings will take place and it is not known at this time when Woods will be returned to Georgia.

Woods brother, Richard Walton, 37, is still wanted for armed robbery charges in connection with the GNC robbery. Walton has outstanding arrest warrants for Party to the Crime Armed Robbery and Party to the Crime Kidnapping. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Walton, please notify law enforcement immediately.
