Thomasville Planning Amphitheater

| August 28, 2015

THOMASVILLE — The City of Thomasville has plans for a new amphitheater on the west end of the Downtown District.

The amphitheater will sit on an acre of land.

The city says it’s an area that wasn’t getting a lot of attention in years past, but with nearly a dozen new business openings, things have changed.

“You know the first 30 years of Main Street, the program was focused on the Broad Street area and it’s time now for us to pay some attention to that area and get it up and going,” said the City of Thomasville’s Karen Smith in an interview with WCTV. “It’s our gateway into the city from Tallahassee so we’re really excited about it.”

The amphitheater is expected to be complete by April of 2016, in time for the 95th annual Rose Show Festival.
