Brown arrested on Possession Charges

VALDOSTA — Lowndes County deputies have arrested a suspect related to a drug distribution investigation.

Brown, Quinton XzavierWednesday, after receiving tips from the community, detectives from the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation and arranged for the delivery and sale of illegal narcotics from Quinton Brown, 17 of Summit Bridge Road.

After arranging the delivery, Brown was observed leaving his home on a golf cart and was stopped by detectives. After obtaining a search warrant for Brown’s residence, detectives found a quantity of M.D.M.A., marijuana, scales, plastic bags used for packaging drugs.

MDMA (Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine), popularly known as Ecstasy or, more recently, as Molly, is a synthetic, psychoactive drug that has similarities to both the stimulant amphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline.

Brown was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with several possession charges. A bond will be considered this afternoon when he appears in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing.
