Ocilla Stabbing Suspect Arrested

OCILLA — Police charged Nicholas Battle with aggravated assault Tuesday night.

Police said that they responded to a report of a stabbing around 2:42 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When they arrived they noticed a man named Nicholas Battle wearing a red shirt and a blue jeans running from the location.

While searching the area police found a woman named Shonteice Pickett in front of the residence stabbed in the back of the neck.

A witness stated that Battle stabbed Pickett.

Officers were able to locate Battle in a vacant lot off of North Oak Street.

Pickett was transported to Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. Her condition is currently unknown.
