Norman Park Shooting Claims Life

MOULTRIE — A shooting in Norman Park has claimed the life of at least one man.

WALB is reporting a shooting being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Colquitt County law enforcement.

Steve Turner with Thomasville GBI told WALB his agency is investigating the shooting incident that left at least one man, John David Hester, dead.  The shooting took place at 353 Highway 256, near Norman Park, around midnight Monday morning.  Hester was shot in front of his home.

Once first responders arrived, Hester was sent to Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie before being transferred to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, where he died.
