VALDOSTA — A domestic dispute Wednesday lead to a stabbing and an arrest.

Valdosta Police Officers responded to domestic disturbance call Wednesday night on 718 N. Troupe Street.  Injuries had also been reported on the 911 call.

When police arrived, along with Lowndes County EMS, they found the victim, James Burdette, 21 of Valdosta, with several stab wounds to his lower body and torso area.

He was taken by EMS to South Georgia Medical Center and is currently in serious condition as a result of the stab wounds.

Police report Burdette’s brother, Charles Holliday, 27, has been arrested in relation to the incident. Both Burdette and Holliday lived at the residence along with another family member who was not injured in the incident.

Detectives are still investigating the incident regarding a motive and more specific details of the dispute are not being released at this time. Witnesses were able to provide information regarding the altercation itself and it was determined, through witnesses and physical evidence, that Holliday was the primary aggressor.

Holliday was not injured in the incident, but is now facing charges of Aggravated Assault Family Violence and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime. Holliday is being held in the Lowndes County Jail awaiting judicial proceedings.
