Accident Claims One Life, Injuries Another

VALDOSTA — A traffic accident claimed one life and left another injured Wednesday.

Valdosta Police report James Snow died from the accident while Betty Phillips was injured.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Lankford Drive and St. Augustine Road in Valdosta.

According to the police report, Phillips approached the intersection in her Toyota Camry and turned left in front of the Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Snow.

Both vehicles were seriously damaged and both drivers were taken to South Georgia Medical Center.

Snow, Thursday morning, died from his injuries at the hospital, while Phillips was treated and released from care.

Phillips was later charged with failure to yield right of way (left turn).  Additional charges may be possible.
