VALDOSTA — A man has been arrested in Lowndes County on charges of human trafficking.

Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday around 5:30 PM investigators with the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff’s Office arrested Omar Stoute after his participation in human trafficking activities was discovered.

Stoute, Omar OaklandEarlier in the day investigators learned of females conducting prostitution which led to investigation. These efforts revealed Omar Stoute had transported two females, one from Savannah and the other from Florida, to Lowndes County for the purpose of conducting prostitution.

In each instance, Omar Stoute would facilitate the encounters between the females and the “Johns” and then take the money from the females. After being removed, both females were reunited with family and friends.

Omar Stoute was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. As of Wednesday, no bond has been set for Stoute.

Lowndes County Sheriff Chris Prine explained this investigation is ongoing as detectives work to identify other females who may have been brought to Lowndes County, and other locations, and exploited for prostitution by Omar Stoute.
