VALDOSTA  – A driver and passenger were fortunate to only sustain minor injuries when the car were in plowed into the back of a farm trailer.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 41 South.  Two people were injured and taken to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

The Georgia State Patrol stated to WALB that a Chevrolet truck was pulling a farm trailer, heading south.  When the truck slowed to make a turn, a car following didn’t realize the change in speed and plowed into the back of the trailer.

Authorities stated the car attempted to slow down only 15 feet from the trailer before striking it.  No names were released at the time of posting.

    The farm trailers I have been behind on 41 and 376 does not have lights which they should be required to if on the highway

    I don’t understand, why! Don’t they have lights, on them by the looks of what I see he could have cause the death of 2 people. Wow… If it don’t have lights to let drives. Know, then how are they to know.

    I think all farm trailers are required to have is an orange safety triangle. Considering that they hit the brakes just 15 feet before hitting the trailer means they weren’t paying attention to the traffic.
