VALDOSTA — Thursday, deputies with the Special Operations Division of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and marshals from the South East Regional Fugitive Task Force of the United States Marshall Service arrested Fredrick Moreland at a residence in Valdosta.

Moreland was being sought for arrest due to warrants alleging his commission of 2 counts of child abuse and 3 counts of aggravated child neglect in Lee County, Florida.

Following an investigation, information was developed that Fredrick Moreland was staying at the Almond Place residence.  Marshalls and deputies went to the residence and Frederick Moreland was arrested without any incident.

A second person in the home, Terrell Dante Washington initially provided a false name and was arrested when his true identity was learned.

Both Fredrick Moreland and Terrell Washington were taken to the Lowndes County Jail to be housed. Fredrick Moreland will be returned to Florida following an extradition hearing. Terrell Washington will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon where a bond will be considered.
