Franchesca Griffin, Valdosta Today

VALDOSTA- The O’Steen Group of Jacksonville, Florida is now the owner of the former Pipkin Motors’ Volkswagon and Subaru dealerships. The family-owned and operated group is excited to bring over 40 years of success and growth to the Valdosta area, as well as employment opportunities for local residents.

The O’Steen Group is comprised of five investors, two who have strong family ties to the area and will head the Valdosta location. Jason Archer, now a partner of the group, started as a technician at one the Jacksonville locations. Chip O’Steen has been washing vehicles since he was five years old and started selling them shortly after high school graduation.

In a recent interview both Archer and O’Steen stated, “Our organization is excited to become an involved partner in the Valdosta community, to expand the Subaru and Volkswagen brand, and to extend employment to the local residents.”

O’Steen goes on to say that he is “overwhelmed with joy by the support received from Valdosta residents who have traveled to Jacksonville for service and purchases…We appreciate the Valdosta community for accepting us with open arms.”

Citing Subaru as the fastest growing brand in the U.S., and Volkswagen the number one car manufacturer world-wide, The O’Steen Group says that the new product line is innovative, efficient, eco-friendly, safe, and reliable. New vehicles will be on the lot as soon as next week and will be backed by the same customer service that has made their Jacksonville location a three-time winner of the Customer 1st Club Award, presented annually to the top 20 dealerships in America.

Employment opportunities are available for both sales representatives and technicians. New employees will join three current employees of Pipkin’s Motors, who have over a hundred years combined experience.

The O’Steen group is set to take ownership June 10, 2015 and is located at 4140 North Valdosta Road. The telephone number will remain 229-242-9920.

Great! I’ve been looking at Volkswagens online for the past few months. The only reason I haven’t bought one is because there have been no local dealerships. Until now!

  2. Sally Archer says:

Congratulations to the Group but especially my nephew Jason Archer—the whole Archer family is very proud of this young man. We have many Archer/Folsom family members in the Valdosta/Hahira area. Maybe we can do some family business with the dealership in the future.
