ALBANY — Police arrested two suspects they say are responsible for destroying green surfaces at an Albany country club.

Joseph Behrend, 21, and William Harpole, 17, have been charged with one count of criminal damage to property and one count of criminal trespass.

Investigators believe the fifth course green at Doublegate Country Club were damaged and destroyed by Behrend and Harpole in an ATV.

They said a 4-wheeler was recovered as evidence.

Officials at the course said each green at the country club could cost as much as $80,000 to repair, and can take years to return to normal.
