Valdosta > Fire Displaces A Mother And Two Children

| April 11, 2015

VALDOSTA– A fire consumed a family’s duplex on Friday afternoon.

A mother and two children have been displaced after the home caught fire around 12:45 at 2129 Houston Avenue.

The mother of the home said she was gone from the kitchen for 20 minutes before the fire started. Firefighters found a pot in the oven and believe that it could be the cause of the fire.

The fire destroyed the stove and the refrigerator, and the entire unit has smoke damage.

No one was injured in the fire and the Red Cross is helping the family.
