THOMASVILLE — During the final City Council meeting of the month, Wallace Goodman was recognized by Councilmember Jay Flowers for his service to the community as the honorary councilmember for the month of March.

“Thomasville is a progressive town because of the dedicated leadership of current and past City Council members and because of the professional management and high expectations from the office of City Manager Steve Sykes,” Goodman said. “Steve and the City employees have very high expectations for Thomasville and the high quality services they provide through the leadership of the City Council.”

“It was my pleasure to serve as the honorary council member for the month of March,” he added

Wallace, a long-time Thomasville resident, serves as the Director of Pebble Hill Plantation and as the CEO of the Pebble Hill Foundation.

At various times each year, councilmembers select a citizen to be the honorary councilmember. As an honorary councilmember, citizens serve for a period of one month, during which time they participate in council meetings and council-related committee meetings, in order to give them a first-hand account of what it takes to keep Thomasville running smoothly.
