THOMAS CO. — Investigators and Thomas County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man after he was caught on video fleeing the scene.

On Friday, Thomas County deputies pulled over a vehicle and the driver handed them the license of 30-year-old Bobby Grant. The man then fled the scene on foot.

Police watched the body camera video and realized the man running from them was not Bobby Grant.

Police called Grant into the Sheriff’s office, where he reported that the man had stolen his license and identity.

The man was driving a red Chevrolet and was pulled over for going 16 miles over the speed limit on Highway 319. The car was registered under the man’s girlfriend.

Deputies spoke to the passenger of the vehicle, 28-year-old Eric Terry while looking into Grant’s information.

Grant then pulled out a bag from behind the passengers seat which contained cocaine and marijuana, dropped the bag and then ran across two lanes of traffic.

Deputies were unable to catch the man.

With any information regarding this case, call Thomas county Sheriff’s office at 229-225-3300.
