VALDOSTA — Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men for trading stolen firearms with an undercover agent. The two men, 21-year-old, Dexter Antonio Swift and 26-year-old Thomas Sheppard Jr. approached an undercover investigator about trading firearms for an assault rifle.

The investigator then agreed to the trade but informed the men that the firearms he had were stolen property.

Swift and Sheppard met the investigator on Highway 376 in Lake Park to exchange the weapons and were arrested immediately. The weapons were seized at this time.

Both men received multiple counts of criminal attempt to possess stolen firearms.
