Valdosta > Valdosta Police Respond To A Woman Shot In The Wrist

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police responded to reports of a woman being shot on Charlton Street.

On Feb, 17, at around 12:50 a.m. police officials found victim, Jessica Godfrey with a gunshot wound to her wrist. During an altercation with Shanavier Walker, Godfrey stated Walker pulled out a gun and shot her in the arm. Walker handed the gun to a witness and fled the scene immediately on foot.

Police found Walker at a local residence and transported her to Lowndes County Jail. Walker has pending arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Godfrey was transported to SGMC, where she was treated for her non-life threatening wound.
