LOWNDES — The National Weather Service in Tallahassee Fla. has released a hard freeze warning for Lowndes County. The hard freeze warning remains in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 9 a.m. on Friday.

A hard freeze warning means temperatures will be in the mid 20s or lower. These temperatures can kill plants, crops, and other sensitive vegetation.

This morning temperatures will be in the low to mid 20s and tonights low will be in the upper teens to lower 20s.

The duration of the hard freeze will be up to six hours this morning and up to 11 hours tonight.

Cover plants and bring animals inside.

Opens at 6 PM

New Horizons Shelter (Women and Children – Men accepted but they must go through Salvation Army first)
