ATLANTA — For being convicted of molesting a 4-year old girl under his care, a Marietta man was sentenced to life in prison.

John Dries, 62 of Marietta, was sentenced by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Alford Dempsey to seven consecutive life terms plus 80 years on charges of child molestation including attempted rape.

According to reports, Dries watched after the child, from Sandy Springs, when she was 4.  Reports stated he doted on the child, buying her expensive gifts.  As time progressed, he began kissing, fondling and then forcing the child to perform sex acts.

Parents didn’t learn of the abuse until it was uncovered by a therapist in 2011.  As a result, Dries was arrested in November of 2011 at his home in Marietta.
