Arrest Made in Thomas County Slaying

THOMASVILLE — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced an arrest related to the May murder of Sharlene Smith Steadman.

The GBI arrested Wade Jackson, 52, on charges of murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and burglary.

Steadman, 53, was found dead on May 4th at her home in Ochlocknee.  Reports stated she died of blunt force trauma to her head.

Jackson, already held on a Georgia State Prison parole violation, will be transported by the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office to Thomas County related to the charges.
