WORTH COUNTY — A single vehicle accident Monday morning near Sylvester injured 3 Worth County sisters.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that three sisters, all from Worth County, were driving toward Albany on Jewel Crowe Road when the driver, Mikaela Hope, 17, lost control of her 2002 Ford pickup.

Hope overcorrected after she ran off the right side of the road, causing the truck to turn clockwise across the road, striking a ditch on the north shoulder of the road.  The truck then went airborne and hit a tree.

The driver’s sister, Angela Hope, a passenger in the vehicle, was in the passenger’s seat while a 14-year old sister was sitting in the back seat.  Both older sisters were wearing their seatbelts while the 14-year old victim was not.

Mikaela Hope was air-lifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from the accident site to be treated for severe head injuries.

Angela Hope was taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany with complaints of injuries to her right side.

The 14-year old sister was airlifted to Egleston Children’s hospital in Atlanta.  She was unresponsive and appeared to be suffering from severe spinal injuries.
