Possible Tornado Touches Down near Blountstown, FL

BLOUNTSTOWN, FL — The Florida community of Blountstown was affected by what appears to be a tornado on Monday.

The Calhoun County, FL Sheriff’s Office reported that 2 Calhoun Correctional Institute employees were injured when the storm passed through early Monday morning. ┬áThe two employees were reporting for work when they were injured in the parking lot.

Perimeter fencing was blown down as well as damage sustained to Department of Corrections vehicles, and those of staff.

The storm passed through the Florida Panhandle early Monday morning, damaging as many as 25 to 30 vehicles at the facility.
