VALDOSTA — Winn Dixie will be closing at least 2 of their 5 Valdosta-area stores.

The Bi-Lo Holdings Company, owner of Winn Dixie, stated that the stores on Norman Drive and Bemiss Road (at Castle Park) will cease operations on December 2nd.

Among the reasons listed for the closures is store underperformance.  The 130 employees will be offered the opportunity to go after open positions in other company stores.

Company officials say that as many as 21 other stores face closure; 25 stored were remodeled.

They need to close the one in Lake Park, they are robbing the community with their outrageous prices!!!

  2. Willie says:

    High prices is their problem…..

  3. Question says:

Will this be the Winn Dixie (on Bemis) near Park Avenue or by Freedom Park???

  4. Meme says:

prices are outrageous!!! Who can afford to shop there??? You don’t get what you pay for either!!!

  5. LL says:

We were disappointed when Harveys changed to Winn Dixie. Only been once since it changed. They had new higher prices to go with the new name.

  6. Question says:

There is nothing wrong with their prices. They have more variety than Harvey’s, gas perks, and not to mention buy-one get-ones.

Harvey’s was expensive, and you always had to make one more stop at Publix for that one thing they didn’t carry.

Glad the Winn Dixie near Freedom Park is staying!

Question, who said there was never a stupid Question? Here is a prime example of one. Hope Winn Dixie can make it with your support, LOL!!!

      • Question says:

I’ll see you in Valdosta when you have no where to buy groceries Papi, that is if they take your humble advice.

Maybe if you can use your fuel perks from Winn Dixie card to get all the way up here?!…just a stupid idea.

        • Papi says:

I cannot remember the last time I shopped at Lake Park Winn Dixie. Publix is my store of preference 😉

Renovate then close….yeah…that makes a lot of sense….way to spend money unnecessarily!
