city-of-thomasville-logoTHOMASVILLE — The Public Works Department, in conjunction with the Engineering Department, has installed stop signs at the intersection of Briarcliff and East Washington Street. The new stop signs have been added to Briarcliff to create a 4-way stop condition.

“After studying traffic patterns, we decided that in order to improve safety for both the surrounding community and commuters a 4-way stop condition was needed,” said City Engineer Jerry Pionessa. “This condition will help to reduce the speed of the vehicles traveling through the area and make the complex intersection easier to navigate.”

Temporary “Stop Ahead” signs have been placed in the area to help alert approaching motorists to the new stop conditions.
