Lady Night Hawks Land Second in Thomas University Invitational

VALDOSTA¬†— Thomas University’s Women’s Golf lands second after day one out of a team playing field of 7 in the Thomas University Fall Invitational at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta.

The Lady Night Hawks shot a one day total of 321 on the par 72, 5,938 yard course. Thomas secures 2nd, just 9 strokes behind the leader, Northwood University.

TU’s Sophomore Jodi Henley secures third place as she recorded a round one total of 76. Junior Jordan Patton locked up 5th, carding a 78, while Sophomore Caroline Parrish, T9, came back to the clubhouse with an 81. Sophomore Heidi Hinz finished round one T17, shooting an 86, as Junior Zayla Smith took 27th with a 91.

TU Head Golf Coach, Peter Ireland commented, “We had a good day today. We are in a good position and with another good round we stand a chance to take the lead. The girls are progressing extremely well and it is exciting to see as we move through our season.”

The Lady Night Hawks will hit the links again tomorrow, October 14th as they wrap up their tournament at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, GA.
