SEcond-Harvest-of-South-Georgia-1VALDOSTA, GA –– Second Harvest of South Georgia will be holding its annual agency meeting in next month but is making some changes in an effort to better meet the needs of its partner agencies. This year Second Harvest has elected to host meetings in each of its four branches rather than one regional meeting. As with previous regional meetings, it is mandatory that every partner agency attend one of these sessions.

Partner agencies may choose to attend the session which is most convenient for them. Those agencies which cannot make the meeting in their immediate service area are invited to attend one of the other subsequent meetings. The meetings are also open to organizations interested in partnering with Second Harvest of South Georgia. Branch meetings will be held as follows:

• Valdosta: Tuesday, October 7, 2014
• Thomasville: Thursday, October 9, 2014
• Albany: Tuesday, October 14, 2014
• Douglas: Thursday, October 16, 2014

The meetings will each be held at 6:00 pm at the Second Harvest warehouse in that city. For driving directions to each warehouse, visit

The annual meeting, mandatory for all Second Harvest of South Georgia partner agencies, serves as an opportunity to come together to receive important updates to the food bank’s various programs as well as to share ideas with other agencies who are also working to feed the hungry in South Georgia. This year’s structure will facilitate idea-sharing between agencies in similar geographic areas. The meeting agenda will include an update on programs at Second Harvest and any changes to the USDA’s emergency assistance program
