Business of the Week: America’s Home Place

| August 19, 2014

America's-home-place-Chamber-of-CommerceVALDOSTA, GA – Congratulations to America’s Home Place, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce’s Leading Business of the Week.

America’s Home Place is the nation’s largest family-owned residential home builder. Beginning in Gainesville, Georgia in 1972, the company has grown to include more than 40 Building and Model Centers across the South and operates on the “principle over profit” policy. The company’s commitment to excellence and customer service has enabled the Valdosta Building Center to serve its customers for 20 years, providing clients with more than 100 floor plans to build “the Home you want… where you want it”

According to manager Ben Polk, the business has thrived due to its company policies and dedication to its customers.

“At America’s Home Place, we do all the work for the customer up front in our local office. Picking your floor plan, choosing your finishes, doing all color selections and even selecting your lender is done all in a few short hours,” he said. “At America’s Home Place, we strive to make home building a stress free, enjoyable experience.”

Polk also believes the company’s ideals and ways of business are the reason for their success in such a difficult industry.

“Lasting 42 years in the construction industry in itself is a miracle, but our biggest accomplishment is that we’ve done things the right way during all of those 42 years,” said Polk.

Polk attributes some of the company’s success to its Chamber membership. “We utilize the Chamber of Commerce for networking and marketing to Moody Air Force Base,” said Polk. “The Chamber also acts as the business community’s voice while we are busy running our businesses from day to day.” Polk believes there is much to be said for the many Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber membership plaques proudly displayed by local businesses.

The Chamber would like to extend a special thank-you to New Hire Solutions, the official 2014 Sponsor of Leading Business of the Week.
